you know that she’s been part of the NYC music scene for a long time now,
having played with a list of all star artists (Kate Pierson, Joan Osborne, PM
Dawn, etc). When she got a ‘52 reissue Fender Telecaster, something changed
and she never turned back. Then she met producer/engineer Tim Hatfield (Keith
Richards, The Damnwells, Eric “Roscoe” Ambel…) That solidified her growing
interest in the swamp twang thang and together they produced “My Own
Backyard”. “My Own Backyard” boasts a touch of twang mixed in with Ann’s NYC
roots. Laced with lap steel, dobro, mandolin and Ann’s signature guitar
solos, “My Own Backyard” is an Americana by way of NYC disc. |

Theater of War CD DES TAGES:
Ann Klein, Waiting For The Snow Ekstase
For The Snow" (ATS Records) ihr drittes Album vorlegt. Die New
in Zeitlupe. Die Falsche ("Goodbye Charade") schickt sie als
Country-Pop in die Wüste. Als geiles Stück im Wortsinn erregt "Match
Burn Twice"; düsterer Bass und heulende Rocksaiten dramatisieren in
einem Song die Einsamkeit. Klein bleibt groß! (BERNHARD LICHTENBERGER) order

For The Love Of
Love Release Date:
1999 Label: hacate

Kevin Salem 01. · 04:26 ·
Man-Bait Play All in all this is an album
of real strength, a CD that impresses continuously throughout its fifty
minute, eleven track existence. Unlike so many of the millions of female
artists who grew out of the success of Alanis (don’t get me started) Ann
Klein has her own definitive, and not borrowed for the day, style. Her music
combines elements of art-pop, blues and rock in a palatable but not overly
sweet concoction. The result is a CD of depth and beauty, and you really can’t
ask for more than that. order (USA): www.cdbaby.com/annklein order (EU): www.musicartconsulting.com/pressedownloadsannklein.htm |

in Billboard (2 full length articles), Relix and Guitar World, New York City
guitarist Ann Klein's Driving You Insane features thirteen tracks of her
unique brand of blues-tinged rock. Her music takes you back to the times,
when Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jefferson Airplane were ruling the music
scene. Ann plays almost everything: from easy listening ("Simple
Matters") to the more heavy rock pieces ("Piece") -- to be
sure, Driving You Insane offers one hour of variation in styles and songs. Starting
her career with the Joan Osbourne band has helped Klein to hone her talent
and wrote or co-wrote everything here and co-produced, with Phillip Levine,
Driving You Insane a flashing river of rock that'll have rock guitar
enthusiasts everywhere sighing, "Yeah, this is what it's all
about." Order US / EU: www.amazon.com or www.amazon.fr |
